Julia Livolsi

Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2024, Julia Livolsi is a high school honors graduate from Glen Rock, NJ. She is currently enrolled in college at Syracuse University where she is studying Broadcast and Digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Her lifelong ambition is to be a Sportscaster for the NHL Network, reporting on her favorite hockey team, The NJ Devils. 

Growing up with a disabled parent and assuming the role of one of her primary caregivers, Julia observed prevalent misconceptions and limited opportunities. Inspired by a passion for broadcast journalism, she created Rise and Shine, a podcast focusing on inclusivity beyond limitations. Through her platform, Julia aims to advocate for better representation of individuals with disabilities, like her mother, using her title to amplify their voices and experiences.

From the age of 5, Julia’s affinity for ski racing has been a constant in her life, transitioning from a hobby into a competitive pursuit that has spanned her high school years and now extends into her academic journey at Syracuse University.

However, it is her work in Broadcast Journalism that truly showcases her talents and commitment to making a difference. As the lead anchor for her high school’s TV news program, Julia not only excelled in front of the camera but also behind the scenes as a director, producer, and editor. Her dedication and skill in this field were recognized with the prestigious “Excellence in Broadcast Journalism” award from Glen Rock High School.

Julia’s advocacy isn’t confined to the studio or the slopes. As an ocean rescue lifeguard along New Jersey’s coastline, she has performed multiple rescues, demonstrating bravery and a profound commitment to the safety of others. Over the course of 3 years on the job, she has accumulated an impressive 5 rescues of victims struggling in rip currents. 

Her involvement with Autism Surf Day further underscores her compassionate nature, where she contributes to creating memorable experiences for children with autism, ensuring they can enjoy the thrill of surfing in a supportive environment.

Julia Livolsi exemplifies a blend of passion, skill, and empathy that drives her to excel in every endeavor she pursues. She believes you should always use your voice to speak out for what is right. Julia is beyond grateful to serve as Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2024 and knows her impact will make a meaningful difference in her community, inspiring those around her to embrace inclusivity and compassion.

She cannot wait to represent the great state of New Jersey at the national Miss Teen USA pageant on August 1st.
